Instant petition has been filed seeking direction to the official respondents for protecting the life and liberty of petitioners from the hands of the private respondents.

In response to the notice issued to the official respondents, affidavit of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur has been filed, wherein, it has been deposed as under:- "1.

That it is submitted that Veena Kumari petitioner No.1 submitted an application bearing No.5708-PD, dated 17.10.2020 against respondent No.5 regarding harassing and giving threats to her. The said application was marked for

{2} inquiry to SHO, P.S.Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur. The SHO, P.S.Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur got the inquiry conducted of the said application from Sub-Inspector Subhash Chander, P.S.Garhshankar and it was found that there was dispute between the both parties regarding partition of ancestral house. Beside this there is no other dispute between the parties and as such the both parties have been instructed to knock at the door of competent Court of law with regard of the matter of partition of ancestral house. Therefore, it was recommended to file the said application.

That after receiving the copy of the present petition from the office of Advocate General Punjab, the police of P.S.Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur visited the house of the petitioners with regard to the matter of present petition and the petitioner gave affidavit duly attested by Notary Public, Garshankar to the police of P.S.Garhshankar in which it is written that they do no need any police security or protection. In future, if they will require the security of police protection, they will inform the police of concerned of Police Station in this regard. The true copy of affidavits are annexed as Annexure R-1 and R-2. However, the police of P.S.Garhshankar is ready and willing to provide police security/protection to the petitioners as and when they will approach the Police of P.S.Garhshankar for the same."

{3} In view of the above, counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the petition. Permitted to do so. Dismissed as withdrawn.
