Let two copies of the writ petition be supplied to the State counsel during the course of day failing which this order shall be automatically recalled and the writ petition shall be deemed to have been dismissed for non-prosecution. In view of the nature of order which we propose to pass, it is not necessary to seek any counter-reply from respondent No.1 or to serve private-respondent Nos.2 to 4 at this stage as no order prejudicial to their interest is being passed on merits.

CWP No.23830 of 2015 [2] The short grievance of the petitioner in the instant writ petition is that he has filed an Election Petition questioning the election of respondent No.2 on the seat of Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat of their village Mundi Churimara, Tehsil Zira, District Ferozepur. The election was held on 03.07.2013 in which the second respondent was declared elected. The petitioner has challenged that election by way of an Election Petition which is stated to be pending from the last more than two years. The petitioner thus seeks a mandamus to direct the Election Tribunal for speedy disposal of the Election Petition.

In view of the directions issued by us in somewhat similar circumstances vide order dated 16.09.2015 in CWP No.19525 of 2015 (Jagjit Singh versus Financial Commissionercum-Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab and others) and other connected cases (P-3), the instant writ petition is also disposed of in terms of the cited decision with a direction to the Election Tribunal, Ferozepur, to decide the Election Petition at the earliest and preferably within a period of six months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order.
