Present Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners praying for directing the respondents to release the revised pay arrears of the 6th Pay Commission in view of notification dated 05.07.2021 (P-2) along with interest @12% p.a. and/or directing respondent No.3 to decide the representation (P-3) of the petitioners.

Both the counsels are ad idem that case of the petitioners is identical to that of 'Kawaljit Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and others' in CWP-6722-2023 which was decided by Co-ordinate Bench of this Court on 29.03.2023.

On perusal of the above said order, this Court finds that the Co-ordinate Bench passed the following order: "4. Mr. Baath appears on advance notice submits that the claim of the petitioners is under active consideration before the DINESH BANSAL 2023.07.20 10:12 I attest to the accuracy of this order Chandigarh

CWP-15141-2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:090951 University Authorities and the same shall be adjudicated within a period of 08 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.

Finding it to be a fair request, the present writ petition is disposed off with the direction to respondent No.3 i.e. Registrar Punjabi University, Patiala to decide the claim of the petitioners within the afore stipulated time period. In case the petitioners are found entitled, the same be released within a period of 12 weeks thereafter. However, in the event, the authorities found that the claim of the petitioners does not merit acceptance, the same shall be adjudicated by passing a speaking order and that too after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

The present writ petition is accordingly disposed of mutatis mutandis.
