HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 8.

Learned counsel for the petitioners argues that both the petitioners are senior citizens and are being forced to sell their land against their wishes and as they are not ready to sell their land, they are facing threat to their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already approached the Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar raising the said grievance vide their representation dated 13.10.2020 (Annexure P-3) and the said representation is still pending consideration with the said authority and the petitioners will be satisfied, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said representation by passing an appropriate speaking order. CRWP-9024-2020 Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State and raises no objection for deciding the representation by respondent No.2 in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case or about the entitlement of the petitioners for the relief which has been claimed by them in the representation dated 13.10.2020 (Annexure P-3), the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation dated 13.10.2020 (Annexure P-3) within a period of four weeks from today from the receipt of copy of this order. In case, after the decision, it is found that the life and liberty of the petitioners are in danger, appropriate action be taken in that regard.
