The present petition has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to release the payment of retiral benefits on account of his retirement on 31.12.2018 along with interest @ 12% p.a. on the delayed payment.

Learned counsel for the petitioner at the outset submits that he would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2 for taking a decision on the demand notice dated 15.09.2020 (Annexure P2) submitted by the petitioner.

CWP-18638-2020 [ 2 ] respondent No.2 i.e. Director, Department of Rural Development & Panchayats, Punjab, to look into the demand notice dated 15.09.2020 (Annexure P2) of the petitioner and decide the same within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order and thereafter to release the amount, if any, due to the petitioner within a period of one month thereafter.
