Petitioner is seeking fair investigation of case bearing FIR No.77 dated 06.07.2019 registered against him at Police Station Rahon, District SBS Nagar for the offence punishable under Section 61 of Punjab Excise Act. A representation (Annexure P-2) to this effect was also made by him to Senior Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar. Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar to look into the representation of petitioner relating to fair investigation of the aforesaid case and take appropriate action in accordance with law within reasonable time.

However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioner from any action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against him in accordance with law.
