The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of regular bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.57 dated 17.5.2019 at Police Station Mullanpur Garib Dass, District Mohali under Sections 323, 452, 354-D, 148, and 149 of Indian Penal Code, wherein offences under Sections 324, 307, 354 and 354-B of Indian Penal Code were added and offence under Section 354-D IPC was deleted later on.

Learned State counsel has, however, feigned ignorance about the compromise.

Learned counsel representing the complainant has, however, endorsed the factum of compromise and has categorically stated that he has no objection in case the petitioner is released on bail.

The petitioner, in any case, has been behind bars since the last more than 4 months and challan already stands presented.

Keeping in view the aforestated position, wherein the matter has been compromised and challan already stands presented, further detention of the petitioner will not serve any useful purpose.
