The petitioner is aggrieved against the order dated 21.08.2017 passed by the Joint Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Patiala Division, Patiala, by which the petitioner has been placed under suspension in terms of the provisions of Section 27(1) of the Punjab Cooperative Societies Act, 1961. Although it is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that the impugned order has been passed in order to reduce the group of the petitioner to minority but at the same time he does not deny that the impugned order can be challenged in appeal under Section 68 of the Act. This fact is not only admitted by learned counsel for the petitioner during the course of hearing but also pleaded in para no.23 of the writ petition. In view of the above, on account of availability of the remedy of appeal under the statute, the present writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, invoking extraordinary jurisdiction of this Court, is not maintainable and hence, the same is hereby dismissed as such.
