(ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed various representations before the authorities and functionaries of the State as well as the Punjab Pollution Control Board asking them to take immediate action in respect of the discharge of polluted water by Gram Panchayat Maluka Patti Golewala, District Faridkot in the drain contrary to the clear directions issued by the authorities concerned not to discharge treated waste water in the drain, but to use it for irrigation purposes only. Mr. Arjun Sheoran, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, submits that the authorities concerned would take a decision on the petitioners' representations in accordance with law.

The authorities of the Punjab Pollution Control Board would also look into the matter and take necessary steps, if so required. In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned counsel for the petitioners as well as the statement of learned State counsel, the writ petition stands disposed of.
