Mr. Ankit Yadav, Advocate for the petitioner. ***** DEEPINDER SINGH NALWA, J. (Oral) In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.3 to grant arms license to the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner had submitted an application for grant of arms license on 06.11.2019. However, the said application was rejected on 23.06.2023 through an automated message (Annexure P-4). Aggrieved against the aforesaid rejection, the petitioner preferred an appeal on 25.07.2023 before the Appellate Authority i.e. respondent No.2, which was accepted vide order dated 10.08.2023 (Annexure P-5) and the matter was remanded back to the District Magistrate, Palwal with a direction to hear the petitioner in respect to the application submitted by him for grant of arms license and to take a fresh decision on merits by passing a speaking order. However, no decision has been taken by the District Magistrate, Palwal till date. He further submits that, in view of the inaction on the part of the District Magistrate, DIWAKER GULATI 2026.05.25 17:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document -1-

CWP-16540-2026(O&M) Palwal, in not passing fresh order in terms of the order dated 10.08.2023 (Annexure P-5), the petitioner had submitted a fresh application vide acknowledgment receipt dated 24.01.2024 (Annexure P-8) for grant of arms license, which remains undecided till date. 3.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that he will be satisfied, if a direction is given to respondent No.3 to decide the application submitted by the petitioner vide acknowledgment receipt dated 24.01.2024 (Annexure P-8), in a time-bound manner. 4.

Mr. Gaurav Jindal, Additional Advocate General, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of respondents and does not oppose the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 6.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider and decide the application submitted by the petitioner vide acknowledgment receipt dated 24.01.2024 (Annexure P-8) for grant of arms license, in accordance with law/rule, within a period of 02 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
