(Oral) In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.2 to take a decision on the application submitted by the petitioner vide acknowledgment receipt dated 09.03.2026 (Annexure P-1) for issuance of an arms license.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner had submitted an application vide acknowledgment receipt dated 09.03.2026 (Annexure P-1) for grant of an arms license. He further submits that although the case of the petitioner has been sent to the Police Authorities for verification, however, no decision thereon has been taken by respondent No.2 till date. The petitioner had also submitted a representation dated 20.03.2026 (Annexure P-4) before respondent No.2. 3.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that he will be satisfied, if a DIWAKER GULATI 2026.05.25 17:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document -1-
CWP-16677-2026(O&M) direction is given to respondent No.2 to decide the representation dated 20.03.2026 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioner in a time-bound manner.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 20.03.2026 (Annexure P-4), submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of 02 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
