In view of the nature of order which we propose to pass, there is no necessity to seek any counter reply from the respondents at this stage. The grievance of the petitioners is that their land was acquired for National Highway Authority of India for which NHAI has deposited the compensation amount of Rs.2,20,00,000/- with the Land Acquisition Collector-cum-SDM, Kotkapura- respondent No.2 but the same is not being released by respondent No.2 even though the award was passed way back on 28.10.2014.

CWP No.23409 of 2016 [2] Having regard to the categoric averments made by the petitioners, we dispose of the writ petition without expressing any views on merit with a direction to respondent No.2 to verify the records and if it is found that the petitioners have not been paid the due amount of compensation, let the same be released forthwith but not later than one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order along with statutory interest upto the date of payment.
