The petitioner assails Communication No.461/SB-1(6) dated 12.1.2023 submitted by respondent No.2 - Additional Director General of Police, (Intelligence), Punjab to the office of respondent No.4 - District Magistrate, Ramban, Jammu & Kashmir vide which the arms license issued to the petitioner i.e. Arms License No.399/DMR dated 7.8.2008 (Annexure P-2) by respondent No.4 was revoked.

Pursuant to service of advance notice, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent - State. 4.

Learned State counsel has pointed out that the order in question is an appealable in terms of Section 18 of Arms Act, 1959 and as such the instant writ petition is not maintainable.

In view of the fact that an efficacious remedy of statutory appeal against the impugned order is available, the instant petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to avail of the remedy of appeal. 6.

In case any such appeal is filed, the Appellate Authority shall take a liberal view as regards the limitation.
