Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondent authorities to grant annual increment to the petitioners for service rendered by them for one complete year, immediately preceding the date of their respective retirements.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the very outset, confines his prayer for deciding representation dated 27.05.2024 (Annexure P-3). He submits that at this stage, petitioners would be satisfied, if the said representation is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to decide representation dated 27.05.2024 (Annexure P-3), submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
