On 24.05.2012 following order was passed:- "The grievance raised in this writ petition is that admittedly, a wrong payment of Rs.1.50 lac was made to the petitioner at the time of his retirement in the year 2008. The petitioner was not guilty of any fraud or misrepresentation in that payment. However, now a recovery notice for Rs.2,57,075/- has been issued to him. Counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner would have no objection to deposit the principle amount within 15 days but he should not be burdened with interest. Notice of motion.
On the asking of the Court, Ms. Monica Chhibber Sharma, DAG Punjab accepts notice. Counsel for the petitioner undertakes to hand over four copies of the writ petition to counsel for the respondents during the course of the day.

The respondent in its reply has conceded that petitioner has deposited principal amount i.e. Rs.1,50,000/-. The dispute remains of interest.

The petitioner was not at fault for delayed payment. He has already deposited principal amount. A period of 13 years from the date of alleged demand has passed away. Considering all these facts, this Court finds it appropriate to make order dated 24.05.2012 absolute. 4.
Disposed of.
