At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2 - Superintendent of Police, District Karnal to consider and decide the representations dated 16.07.2022 (marked to SHO, Karnal) and 04.08.2022 (Annexures P-4 and P-5) alleged to have been submitted by the petitioners seeking protection for their lives and personal liberty. Accordingly, without commenting upon the merits of the claim of the petitioners and even the assertions set out in the petition, the present petition is disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2 that if any such representations, as indicated above, are indeed pending consideration, they shall be dealt with expeditiously in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, preferably within one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and conveying the same to the petitioners.
