The petition in hand has been preferred under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India with the following substantive prayer(s):- "1. For issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction, directing respondent nos. 2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's representation/complaint dated 01.05.2026, Annexure P-3, regarding the assault upon the petitioner regarding which the medical was conducted at CHC Gharyala on dated: 28.04.2026, Annexure P-1, use of deadly weapon to strike on petitioner's causing grievous injury including fracture of nasal bone, and continuing criminal intimidation/threats, and to provide necessary protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family.
II. Any other order or direction with this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case.
III. For exemption from service of advance notices upon the respondents.
IV. For permission to file photocopy/uncertified copy/untyped copies of the annexures.
V. Cost may kindly be awarded in favour of the petitioner." 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner after arguing for sometime has limited his prayer by stating that he would be satisfied, for the nonce, if a direction is issued to respondent No2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, Punjab, to consider and take a conscious decision JATIN 2026.05.29 16:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-6196-2026 on the representation dated 01.05.2026 made by the petitioner (copy whereof has been annexed as Annexure P-3 with the petition in hand) in a time-bound manner.

Learned State counsel has urged that he has no objection in case limited prayer made by the petitioner, for decision of his representation dated 01.05.2026 (Annexure P-3), is directed for.

Keeping in view the nature of the litigation involved in the present petition, the requirement to serve respondent No.5 to 11 stands dispensed with.

Having heard learned counsel for the rival party(s) and upon perusal of the paper-book, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the petition in hand with the following directions: (i) Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, Punjab is mandated to look into the representation dated 01.05.2026 (Annexure P-3) moved by the petitioner, objectively consider the grievance(s) raised therein & take ratiocinated decision thereupon within a period of 15 days from today. Said decision be conveyed to the petitioner within 7 days thereafter.
(ii) No order as to costs.
