(Oral) The petitioners seek the relief of promotion to the post of Head Constables from the date of qualifying the Lower School Course as per Rule 13.8(2) of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934 and consequential benefits. The relief is sought on the ground that similar relief has been given to various counter parts of different districts i.e. Bathinda, Pathankot, Gurdaspur etc. by the office of respondent no. 2 vide different orders (Annexure P-5). Counsel for the petitioners submits that the representation dated 05.06.2015 (Annexure P-6) has already been filed and he would be satisfied at this stage if a direction is issued to the respondents to take a decision on the said representation within a time bound frame. Notice of motion.

Mr. R.S. Sidhu, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Requisite number of copies of writ petition have been supplied to him in Court.
