Present petition has been filed under Section 528of BNSS, 2023 for quashing of FIR No. 460, dated 15.08.2020, under Sections 148, 149, 323, 324, 452, 506 of IPC [corresponding Sections 191, 190, 115(2), 118, 333, 351 of BNS, 2023], registered at Police Station Karnal City, District Karnal (Annexure P-1), and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise-deed dated 22.04.2026 (Annexure P-2), arrived at between the parties.

As per allegations in the FIR, more than eight accused persons, namely, (i) Sanjay, (ii) Neelam, (iii) Dinesh (petitioner herein), (iv) Chini, (v) Sunil Saini, (vi) Rajesh Saini, Ex-Sarpanch, (vii) Rajbir @ Raje (petitioner herein), (viii) Bala, besides two other persons, are involved in the present case, whereas the instant petition has been filed only on behalf of two of them.

However, liberty is granted to the petitioners to file a fresh petition on the same cause of action, by impleading all the necessary parties to the lis.
