The contents of the petition along with Annexures thereof have been perused. The petitioners being of marriageable age under law, have the freedom to exercise the right to choose a partner of their choice. It is their first marriage.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur to verify the contents of representation dated 28.10.2020 (Annexure P-4) seeking protection of life and liberty and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to them. It is clarified that this order shall neither be treated as a stamp of this Court qua marriage of the petitioners nor any reflection on the merits of the contentions raised by them in the present petition.

Present petition stands disposed of.
