-.- JAISHREE THAKUR J. (ORAL) The petitioners No.1 and 2 herein had applied for the post of Constable under ESM SC (Mazbi) Category in pursuance to Advertisement No.1 of 2016 dated 31.05.2016 in Armed Police Cadre and District Police Cadre respectively.

As per pleadings, petitioners contended that they have obtained necessary marks and therefore, should be considered for appointment to the post of Constable under their category.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent-State would submit that petitioner No.1-Jasvir Singh had applied under Armed Police Cadre and obtained 25 marks (cut-off being 23 marks), therefore, being in merit, he has already joined in Commissionerate of Police, Ludhiana. However, petitioner No.1-Komal Singh, who had applied under District Police Cadre did not secure necessary marks, as the last selected candidate in District Police Cadre had obtained 24 marks. In view of the aforementioned facts and circumstances, the writ petition qua petitioner No.1 is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous and qua petitioner No.2 stands dismissed.
