(ORAL) This is a petition that has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 to 6.

Pursuant to notice having been issued in the said matter, reply has been filed on behalf of the respondent-State and the same is taken on record. A perusal of the said reply would reflect that petitioner No.1 Pargat Singh has stated before the Investigating Officer, Police Station Sadar, Pathankot that he and petitioner No.2 have no threat perception from the family members of petitioner No.2 and they do not need any police protection or security. It is stated that his parents have agreed to marriage and he and his wife are residing at their paternal home and do not want to take any action in the instant criminal writ petition. No one has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioners today, despite the matter having been called twice.
