RUPINDERJIT CHAHAL, J. (ORAL) 1.

Instant petition under Section 483 BNSS, 2023 has been filed for grant of regular bail/interim bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.0162 dated 18.04.2026 registered under Sections 111, 3(5) BNS and Sections 25(6), 25(7) (i) of Arms Act, 1959 at P. S. Dera Bassi, District SAS Nagar, Mohali. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the present case. No recovery is to be effected from him. He further submits that no material has been placed on record by the investigating agency to show that the petitioner is associated with any gang. Petitioner has clean antecedents as he is not involved in any other case. At this juncture, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer for grant of interim regular bail only and submits that the petitioner is a student and needs to appear for his B.Com 3rd year examinations which is commencing from 28.05.2026 and will continue till 20.06.2026. He further submits that the petitioner shall suffer PUNEET SHARMA 2026.05.27 11.52 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRM-M-29872-2026 -2irreparable loss and prejudice to his academic career if he is not allowed to appear in his exams. To support his contention he has placed on record the copy of date sheet of examinations and admit card of the petitioner. Hence, he prays that the petitioner be granted interim bail for a limited period to appear in his examinations.

Learned State counsel has opposed the grant of any relief to the petitioner. However, she could not controvert the fact that the petitioner is a student and his exams are scheduled to commence w.e.f. 28.05.2026 upto 20.06.2026.

Without delving into the merits of the case and keeping in view the facts, circumstances and limited prayer of the petitioner, accordingly, the petitioner is ordered to be released on interim regular bail w.e.f. 27.05.2026 to 20.06.2026 upon his furnishing bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the learned trial Court/Duty Magistrate/CJM concerned.

The petitioner shall surrender before the Central Jail, Patiala on 21.06.2026 at 10.00 A.M.
