(ORAL) The petitioner has approached this Court under Articles 226/ 227 of Constitution of India, seeking directions to the official respondents to protect his life and liberty at hands of the private respondents who are allegedly threatening to eliminate him or involve him in false criminal case. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that talks regarding marriage of petitioner with Radha Rani, daughter of respondent No.4 were going on. Radha Rani wanted to marry the petitioner whereas, private respondents are against the said marriage. As such, they are threatening the petitioner with dire consequences. In these circumstances, petitioner submitted 17.09.2020 (Annexure P-1) but no action has been taken thereon till date. Hence, the petition.

Mr. Ajay Pal Singh Gill, DAG, Punjab, who has joined proceedings, on service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of State of Punjab.

Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority/respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, to look into the representation dated 17.09.2020 (Annexure P-1) to ascertain/verify the threat perception. In case the same is found to be genuine, appropriate steps be taken in accordance with law.

Present petition stands disposed of.
