Mr. Fatehjeet Singh, Advocate for the petitioner. ***** DEEPINDER SINGH NALWA, J. (Oral) In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant arms license to the petitioner for his safety and security. 2.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner had submitted an application vide acknowledgment receipt dated 05.08.2023 (Annexure P-2) for grant of arms licence. However, till date, no decision has been taken thereon by respondent No.2. He submits that as no decision has been taken by respondent No.2 on the said application, the petitioner has also submitted an application dated 17.03.2026 (Annexure P-5) to respondent No.2 to take decision on the application dated 05.08.2023 (Annexure P-2) submitted by the petitioner for grant of arms license. 3.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that petitioner will be satisfied, if a direction is given to respondent No.2 to decide the DIWAKER GULATI 2026.05.26 10:22 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document -1-

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the application/representation dated 17.03.2026 (Annexure P-5), submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of 08 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 7.
