The writ petitioners are said to have filed appeal under Section 25 of the Representation of People Act, 1950 before the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab-respondent No.2. The appeal was statedly filed on 27.12.2016. The short prayer in this writ petition is to direct the second respondent to decide that appeal in a time-bound manner. [2] Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and considering the nature of relief sought by them in this writ petition, but without expressing any views on the merits or on the maintainability of the appeal, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to verify the pendency of the appeal, if any, and decide the same in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
