The instant writ petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking a writ of certiorari for quashing the order dated 12.01.2018 (Annexure P-8) whereby the representation filed by the petitioners dated 18.01.2017, has been rejected and the petitioners have been ordered to undergo departmental test as per the amended rules. 2.
On 12.03.2024, the following order was passed :- "Mr. Mayank Sharma, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioners and filed Power of attorney, which is taken on record.
Learned counsel for the respondents submits that the instant petition has been rendered infructuous in view of the averments made in para 3 of the reply which reads as under:- "This it is most humbly submitted that the present writ petition had been filed by the petitioners owing to the fact that their claim was rejected through order dated SATYAWAN 2024.04.10 11:14 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-18955-2018 (O&M) 2024:PHHC:048520 12.01.2018. It is brought to the knowledge of this Hon'ble Court that since the filing of the petition, the petitioners agreed to give the departmental test. Now since the petitioners have passed the departmental test, they have been promoted on regular basis and accordingly the answering respondent has issued order dated 26.04.2022 (Annexure R-1). Owing to the same the matter has become infructuous."
Learned State counsel submits that the petitioners have already been promoted/regularized to the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) w.e.f 02.01.2017.
Learned counsel for the petitioners seeks time to get instructions from the clients.
On his request, adjourned to 20.03.2024."

Since the petitioners agreed to give the departmental test and after passing the same, they have been promoted on regular basis, therefore, the instant petition has been rendered infructuous. The same is disposed of accordingly.
