*** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The instant Writ Petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to re-issue the passport of the petitioner.

Pursuant to the advance copy of petition, having been supplied to Union of India, Ms. Ayushi Sharma, Advocate, appears on behalf of respondent(s)-Union of India and informs the Court that as on date the passport application, submitted by the petitioner, stands closed. However, in case, the petitioner applies afresh with the requisite documents/information, the passport application, submitted by the petitioner, would be considered and final decision shall be taken thereon.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner prays that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition with liberty to the HIMANI GUPTA 2025.05.31 14:16 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh

In view of the above, the present writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty aforesaid.

It goes without saying that in case any such application for issuance of passport is submitted by the petitioner within a period of three weeks from today, the same shall be considered by the passport authorities and final decision shall be taken thereon within a period of eight weeks thereafter.
