Seeking concession of parole for 08 weeks under the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release ) Act 1962, petitioner has come up before this Court by filing the present petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India r/w 528 BNSS/482 CrPC. 2.
Perusal of the file shows that petitioner has filed an appeal against conviction before this Court bearing number CRA-D-146-2026, which has been admitted. 3.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be contended and satisfied if directions are issued to decide the application dated 17.02.2026 (Annexure P-2) within the time bound manner.

Notice served upon the official respondent through State counsel. Counsel for the State submits that they be given time to decide the application (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner.

Given the nature of order this Court proposes to pass, no response is required from the official respondent.

Given above, respondent No.5-the Superintendent of Jail, Central Jail Faridkot, Distt. Faridkot, Punjab, is directed to expedite the application (P-2) filed by the petitioner, within a period of two weeks and respondent No.2 shall decide the same by 30.06.2026 positively. It is clarified that order passed must be reasoned one and same be also communicated to the petitioner without any delay.
