On our asking, Mr.P.S.Bajwa, Addl.A.G.Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents. Let three sets of paperbook be handed over to him during the course of the day. In view of the nature of the order which we propose to pass, no written statement is required at this stage.

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

Petitioners are working as Laboratory Assistants in the Department of Agriculture. They claim that vide order dated 23.12.2011, they have been granted lower `Revised Pay Scale' as compared to other similarly placed employees including Gram Sewaks, Constables, Clerks, Patwaris and Laboratory Attendants of Education Department etc. Meenu 2017.01.10 16:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh

CWP-24344-2016 -2The question whether petitioners are entitled to claim pay parity with the above categories of employees, has to be essentially examined by the authorities as it involves a policy decision. As the petitioners have raised such a claim vide representations dated 06.08.2016 (Annexure P4), we dispose of this writ petition, without expressing any views on merits, with a direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to look into the petitioners' claim and decide the same by way of a reasoned order preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
