In this writ petition filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned show cause notice dated 23.06.2017 appended as Annexure P-7 with the writ petition, whereby alleged recovery of `22,55,657/- was sought to be made for abandoning the liquor vend which was allotted to him.

Accordingly, on a query being put to the learned counsel for the petitioner, as whether any reply has been filed to the show cause notice dated 23.06.2017 (Annexur P-7), it was candidly admitted that no reply has been filed so far. In view thereof, a prayer was made that he may be allowed to withdraw the present writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to file a detailed and comprehensive reply to the show cause notice and a time bound Savita 2017.09.19 14:36 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court Chandigarh

After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner and perusing the averments made in the petition and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the controversy, we dispose of the writ petition by permitting the petitioner to file a detailed and comprehensive reply to the show cause notice dated dated 23.06.2017 (Annexur P-7) before respondent No.3 within a period of 15 days from today. In case such reply to the show cause notice is filed, the same shall be decided by respondent No.3 within a period of next one month in accordance with law after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and by passing a speaking order.
