The instant petition has been filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023 (corresponding Section 439 of Cr.P.C.), for grant of regular bail to the petitioner - Rakesh Kumar, who has been booked for having committed the offence punishable under Sections 22, 61, 85 of NDPS Act, 1985, in FIR No. 0083, dated 05.11.2023, registered at Police Station Mehna, District Moga. 2.
Petitioner was apprehended with with a total of 5200 and 14800 tablets of Alprade-0.5 and Elprasafe-0.5. First petition filed by him was dismissed as withdrawn vide order dated 20.09.2024, passed in CRM-M46121-2024, and second bail petition was dismissed by the Coordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 28.02.2025, passed in CRM-M-102612025 (both orders are annexed as Annexure P-3). 3.
Out of total cited 16 prosecution witnesses, 06 have already been examined and petitioner is stated to be inside jail for a period of about 02 years and 04 months.

Considering the huge quantity of contraband recovered from the petitioner and the findings already recorded by the Coordinate Bench of this Court in its order dated 28.02.2025, this Court, while dismissing the present petition, does not find any substantial ground to extend the concession of regular bail to the petitioner.
However, the learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same expeditiously, preferably within a period of six months.
