(Oral) The petitioner has questioned the auction conducted on 21.11.2013 by the Gram Panchayat of her village whereby land measuring 254 acres is said to have been leased out. Vide the said auction, the agricultural land is auctioned for a crop year only. If that is so, the lease period has already expired.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, however, submits that the auction was for seven years. No such duration is mentioned in the resolution of the Gram Panchayat (P-5). The lease-deed containing such tenure is also not on record. In these circumstances, we leave it open to the petitioner that if the Gram Panchayat has auctioned the land for a tenure which is contrary to the lease period prescribed under the Rules, she may approach the Competent Authority, namely, respondent Nos.5 & 6 who shall then surely look into MOHINDER KUMAR 2016.02.15 11:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh
