The tenant is in the revision petition against the order striking off his defence for not filing reply to the eviction petition after availing 5 opportunities.
The learned counsel representing the petitioner contends that although there is no justification, however, prays for a mercy chance. In the considered view of this Court, the time has come when the court is required to ensure speedy trial. A landlords files an eviction petition with the hope of getting the order of eviction expeditiously. However, certain tenants adopt all possible methods to delay the proceedings. In the present case, the tenant has already been granted 5 opportunities. His defence was struck off on 30.11.2019.
