On our asking, Mr.Rajesh Bhardwaj, learned Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Let two copies of the writ petition be supplied to learned State counsel during the course of day failing which this order shall be automatically recalled and the writ petition shall be deemed to have been dismissed for non-prosecution.

In view of the nature of order which we propose to pass, it is not necessary to seek any counter-reply from the respondents at this stage. The petitioners are residents of village Hoshiarpur, Had Bast No.159, Tehsil Kharar, District SAS Nagar Mohali. Their land was acquired by the State of Punjab vide Award Nos.548 & 549 dated 31.12.2013. The petitioners being dissatisfied with the compensation awarded by the Land Mohinder Kumar Kamboj 2017.01.09 11:41 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP No.24881 of 2016 [2] Acquisition Collector, have filed references under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (since repealed). Those references have been filed on different dates, copies whereof are appended as Annexure P-2(Colly.). Their grievance in the instant writ petition is that the Land Acquisition Collector is sitting tight on those references and has not forwarded the same to the Reference Court.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and keeping in view the fact that the references were filed way back in the year 2014, we dispose of this writ petition without expressing any views on merits, with a direction to respondent no.2 to ascertain the correct facts and in case the above-mentioned references filed by the petitioners are lying pending in his office, let the same be forwarded to the Court of competent jurisdiction within a period of two months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order.

Ordered accordingly.
