JASWANT SINGH, J. (ORAL) The petitioner, while serving on the post of Pharmacist in the Department of Health, Punjab, has retired on 31.8.2018, on attaining the age of supernnuation of 58 years.

The claim of the petitioner for extension under the "optional extension policy" has been declined vide impugned order dated 3.7.2018, Annexure P5, on the ground that post of Pharmacist belongs to "diminishing cadre".

CWP-19594-2018 (O&M) that no doubt the issue is covered in favour of the petitioner vide judgment dated 5.9.2018, passed by this Court in CWP No.4360 of 2018 and connected bunch, however, in view of the request of the petitioner dated 9.10.2018, a photocopy of which has been handed over to the counsel for the petitioner and another has been taken on record as Mark-A, whereby he has relinquished his claim for seeking extension, no further adjudication, in the instant writ petition, is required.

Dismissed as having rendered infructuous.
