***** HARSH BUNGER J. (ORAL) The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent No.4 to issue the passport of the petitioner (minor).

Learned counsel appearing for respondents No.1, 3 and 4 has handed over a copy of letter dated 18.07.2025, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Copy thereof has been supplied to learned counsel for the petitioner in Court today itself. 2.1 Learned counsel for respondents No.1, 3 and 4 submits that vide above referred letter dated 18.07.2025, certain clarifications were sought from by the petitioner (minor) through his legal guardian as it is a case of inter-country adoption; however, the petitioner has not responded to said letter dated 18.07.2025.

2.2 It is further submitted by learned counsel appearing for respondents No.1, 3 and 4 that application seeking issuance of passport, submitted by the petitioner is pending before the concerned authorities and in case, the petitioner answer all the clarifications/information and provide the documents as may be sought from him, then his application would be considered and final decision thereon shall be taken by the concerned authorities.

In view of the aforesaid stand taken by learned counsel appearing for respondents No.1, 3 and 4, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to approach the authorities and respond to letter dated 18.07.2025.

Ordered accordingly.

It goes without saying that in case, the petitioner responds to letter dated 18.07.2025 and answer all the clarifications/information and provide the documents as may be sought from him, then the concerned passport authorities shall consider the same and take a final decision on the passport application, submitted by the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date when such information/clarification/documents are supplied by the petitioner.
