IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT

CHANDIGARH CWP No. 25917 of 2015 Date of decision: 11.12.2015 Kulwinder Singh ....Petitioner(s)

Versus

Punjab School Education Board

...Respondent(s)

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE G.S.SANDHAWALIA

Present:

Mr. Deepak Aggarwal, Advocate, for the petitioner.

G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks the direction to the respondent to make necessary corrections in the date of birth recorded in the middle standard examination certificate of March, 2008 and the matriculation certificate of March, 2010 (Annexures P-4 and P-5) respectively. The date sought to be incorporated is 04.05.1993 as per the birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation, Bathinda (Annexure P-1). It is the case of the petitioner that on his request, correction has been made in the record of the school (Annexure P-2) and in the 5th standard examination certificate (Annexure P-3) by the respondent-board on 14.07.2015. However, in Annexures P-4 and P-5, the correction has not been made in spite of a representation dated 21.11.2015 (Annexure P-6) having been filed and he further submits that he would be satisfied if a time bound decision is taken on the same.

Keeping in view the limited relief sought, this Court is of the opinion that there is no need to call upon the respondents to file reply. Accordingly, without commenting on the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to decide the representation dated 21.11.2015 (Annexure P-6) within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. Needless to say if the relief is to be denied, a reasoned order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner.
