Mr. Rajinder Singh Bhata, Advocate for the petitioner. HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J Grievance of the petitioner, who is aged about 24 years, is that respondent Nos.4 to 7 (parents, brother and other family members of the petitioner) are forcing her to get married to an elderly person whereas the petitioner did not agree to the proposal as desired by the private respondents. She is presently residing with one Mahinder Pal Singh, who has provided her shelter. It is alleged that the private respondents even visited the house of said Mahinder Pal Singh and threatened him of dire consequences if the petitioner does not marry, as per the choice of the private respondents. The petitioner apprehends danger to her life as well as life of Mahinder Pal Singh. In this regard, she has submitted a representation dated 13.10.2020 (P.2) addressed to respondent No.2 but no action thereon has been taken as yet.

Without in any way commenting upon the merits of the case or opining on the veracity of the allegations contained in the representation, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to look into the said representation (P.2) and take appropriate action as may be warranted in law.
