*** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The instant Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to issue passport to the petitioner. 2.
Pursuant to the advance copy of petition, having been supplied to Union of India, Mr. Hemant Hans, Central Govt. Counsel, appears on behalf of the respondents-Union of India and submits that as on date the application for issuance of the passport, submitted by the petitioner, is still pending, however, on an account of Adverse Police Verification Report received against the petitioner, certain information/documents are required to be submitted by the petitioner.
2.1 Learned counsel for the respondents further submits that in case the petitioner approaches the concerned passport issuing authority on 02.06.2025 at 11:00 A.M. and submit the requisite information/documents, then the application for issuance of passport, submitted by the petitioner, HIMANI GUPTA 2025.05.29 18:32 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh
CWP-16680-2025 (O&M) -2would be considered and final decision shall be taken thereon within a period of eight weeks from the date when such information/documents are submitted by the petitioner.
