Prayer in this writ petition is to decide the representation (Annexure P-14) in a time-bound manner.

[2] We have gone through the contents of the representation dated 10.05.2017. The prayer made therein is to set aside the election of respondent no.5 as Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat of village Kail, Tehsil Jagadhri, District Yamuna Nagar. It cannot be disputed that the only remedy available for laying challenge to the election lies in a election petition for which there is an express provision under Section 176 of the the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. The petitioner has not availed any such remedy. [3] In this view of the matter, the direction sought in this writ petition for deciding the representation is wholly misconceived and cannot be entertained.

[4] Dismissed.
