The petitioner has filed the instant petition for directions to the official respondents to protect his life and liberty from respondent No.3 and also to take action on the complaint dated 21.05.2025 (Annexure P1) filed against respondent No.3 to 15 2.

Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 5 only. 3.

Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 5.

The learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed a complaint (Annexure P1) with the police for taking action against the private respondents, but the same is pending decision till date. He further submits that a direction for disposing of the complaint (Annexure P1) be given to the concerned authorities and the instant writ petition be disposed of.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is

Criminal Writ Petition No. 8521 of 2025 disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to decide the complaint (Annexure P1) within a period of 15 days from today, by passing a speaking order.

It is further directed that the petitioner will be provided adequate safety and security to his life and liberty, if required. It is, however, clarified that any observation is not being made by this Court with regard to threat perception to the petitioner and the police authorities of District Malerkotla shall be at liberty to make assessment with regard to threat perception to the petitioner and take a decision with regard to providing adequate security to them.
