(Oral) The petitioner has approached this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking quashing of the Memo No.3609/STA/2014, dated December 11, 2014 (appended as Annexure P-6) and all actions flowing from the memo. A further prayer for direction to the respondent for not to interfere with the free conduct of the petitioner's business or with that of its affiliated operators and drivers, has also been made.

Learned counsel for the respondent - UT, Chandigarh, submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition, Chandigarh Administration On-demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2017 (in short '2017 Rules'), have been promulgated in exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 93, 95(1) and 96(1) read with Section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988) and all other powers enabling the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh. A photocopy of the aforesaid 2017 Rules has been filed in Court today. The same is taken on record, Jawala Ram 2017.10.26 16:15 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

In view of the formation of the aforesaid 2017 Rules, there was consensus between the parties that the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous and accordingly, a prayer was made that the same may be disposed of as such.
