Present writ petition is for issuance of directions to respondents No.1 & 2 for taking suitable action against respondents No. 6 & 7 in accordance with the provisions of Section 20(4) of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") and to initiate proceedings under Section 216 of the Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that petitioner is one of the residents of village Salempur, Block Tanda, District Hoshiarpur and had filed a complaint dated 12.10.2017 (Annexure P1) against respondents No.6 & 7, who are Sarpanch and Panch of the Gram Panchayat of the said village. The matter was looked into by the Block Development & Panchayat Officer, Tanda and had issued notice dated 14.11.2017 (Annexure

2) to respondent No.6-Rajni. Thereafter, petitioner made representations dated 18.01.2018 (Annexure P3) and dated 02.07.2018 (Annexure P5), Deepak Kumar Bhardwaj 2018.08.13 16:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Civil Writ Petition No. 20029 of 2018 respectively, to respondent No.2-Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, but no action has been taken thereon by now.

In view of above, present writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No. 2-Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, to look into the representations dated 18.01.2018 (Annexure P3) and dated 02.07.2018 (Annexure P5), respectively, and take necessary action thereon, under the law, if so required, expeditiously and preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
