Acquisition of land, for which, notifications under Sections 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short, 'the 1894 Act') were issued on 15.12.2006 and 18.10.2007, respectively, has been impugned by filing the present writ petition, where award was announced by the Land Acquisition Collector on 14.03.2008.

Plea of discriminatory is sought to be raised. Even in the case, which has been cited the land was released before the award was announced by the Collector. There being huge delay in challenging the acquisition, even after the award was announced, the present writ petition deserves to be dismissed on account of delay and latches only. Ordered accordingly.
