-3RAJAN GUPTA , J. (Oral) This order shall dispose of bunch of aforesaid eight writ petitions as similar relief has been sought therein. Petitioners before this court are Gaushalas who are aggrieved by Commercial Circular No.41/2018, Annexure P-5, whereby supply of free electricity has been denied to the registered Gaushalas in Punjab. It has been urged before the court that though the State is collecting Cow cess from the citizens, yet it has taken a decision not to continue with the Scheme introduced vide Notification, Annexure P-3 for supply of free electricity. A query has been put to learned State counsel whether the matter can be examined by the concerned authorities, he submits that it can be done by respondents No.1 and 2.
Under the circumstances, these petitions are disposed of with a direction that a Committee comprising the Chief Secretary, Punjab and Chairman of PSPCL shall look into the matter and take appropriate decision. Learned State counsel ensures the court that recovery of pending dues shall not be effected and supply of electricity shall not be disconnected till the decision is taken by the concerned authorities. Decision shall be taken within two months from today. In case of any adverse decision, petitioners shall be at liberty to seek redressal by availing appropriate remedy.
