Heard through video conferencing.

The prayer in the present criminal writ petition is for issuance of a writ for protecting the life and liberty of the petitioners. It has been contended by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners developed a liking for each other and thereafter decided to solemnize their marriage. Learned counsel for the petitioners would further contend that respondent Nos.4 to 6, who are the parents of petitioner No.1, are against their marriage. Both the petitioners are stated to be major. The Aadhar Cards of both the petitioners are annexed as Annexures P-1 and P-2, respectively, wherein the dates of birth of both the petitioners are depicted as 01.01.2001 and 18.08.1988.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has further contended that the petitioners have since solemnized their marriage and their marriage certificate and photographs are appended as Annexure P-3 and Annexure P-4. The petitioners apprehend danger to their life and liberty at the hands of the private respondents. The petitioners have also given a representation dated 03.11.2020 (Annexure P-5) to the Superintendent of Police, Kaithal, respondent No.2 herein, but no action is stated to have been taken thereon.

CRWP No.9178 of 2020 -2Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied at this stage if a direction is issued to the Superintendent of Police, Kaithal (respondent No.2) to consider the representation (Annexure P-5) of the petitioners and take action in accordance with law. Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Ms. Dimple Jain, Assistant Advocate General, Haryana has joined the session through video conferencing and accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3. Learned State counsel submits that she has no objection to the present petition being disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 Superintendent of Police, Kaithal, to consider the representation (Annexure P-5) and take action in accordance with law.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to Superintendent of Police, Kaithal (respondent No.2) to consider the representation (Annexure P-5), filed by petitioners herein, in accordance with law.
