Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing respondent No.1 to stop the recovery @ 60% per month from the salary of the petitioner till the pendency of statutory appeal dated 24.06.2024 (Annexure P-3) filed by the petitioner against the order of punishment dated 11.06.2024 (Annexure P-2) issued under endorsement No.PWC/EST/E-10/EF-356/9884-90/24 dated 14.06.2024 passed by respondent No.1, whereby recovery of Rs.1,88,47,650/- has been imposed on the petitioner. Further prayer has been made to stay the operation of the order dated 11.06.2024 (Annexure P-2) till respondent No.2 - The Appellate Authority decide the statutory appeal dated 24.06.2024 (Annexure P-3), filed by the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, at the outset prays for deciding the appeal dated 24.06.2024 (Annexure P-3) filed by the petitioner expeditiously by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

Mr. T.S. Sidhu, Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submits that the appeal filed by the petitioner shall be decided expeditiously.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the relevant record.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - The Appellate Authority to consider and decide the appeal dated 24.06.2024 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law, by passing a speaking order as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 7.
