On 24.08.2022, the following order was passed: "The petitioner complains that despite the amount having been received from the Indian Railways, the officials of the State of Punjab are refusing to pay the same. The amount, in question, represents the social infrastructure cess charged on the sale deed registered in favour of the petitioner, who is a displaced person, on account of compulsory acquisition of the land. As per the scheme, the petitioner is entitled to reimbursement of the amount of stamp duty and other charges on purchase of the subsequent land as a replacement of the compulsorily acquired land.

The learned counsel representing the petitioner admits that payment has been released to the petitioner. However, he submits that there is a delay in releasing the payment. If that is so, the petitioner will have liberty to avail his remedy.
