Amrit Pal Singh v. State Of Punjab
2023:PHHC:097664
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH CRM-M-36053-2023 (O&M) Date of Decision: 31.07.2023 AMRIT PAL SINGH ... Petitioner
Versus
STATE OF PUNJAB ... Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HARNARESH SINGH GILL
Present:
Mr. Rishu Mahajan, Advocate for the petitioner.
Mr. CL Pawar, Additional AG Punjab.
**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.31 dated 15.04.2023, under Sections 306 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Nurmahal, District Jalandhar.
At the outset, learned State counsel points out that the petitioner is a juvenile, as would decipher from memo of parties, in which he himself has mentioned his age as 17 years. He further submits that in the application seeking bail before the learned Sessions Judge, the age was mentioned as 22 years and that in another FIR registered against the petitioner, under the provisions of SC &T Act, one year back, he had disclosed his age as 20 years. It is, thus, argued that the petitioner has not approached this Court with clean hand.
Learned counsel for the petitioner does not dispute the aforesaid aspect of the matter.
